Is it true poison ivy cures Verrucas? (Please read details),?

I have a large cluster of Verrucas on my left foot and although they are clearing up pretty well with the chosen substance from the pharmacy may father is adamant that Holding poison Ivy on the infected area will clear them up in almost a day and he even went on to mention that the pain disappears instantly saying that "I could hardly walk with the pain" Is this true, has anyone else ever done this, Is it a known technique?
