Pregnancy handouts from the hospital?

So I am diabetic and I was in the Emergency Dept this morning because I have been a bit sick and my sugars have been high. They did quite a few labs on me and before I left, the doctor handed me a bunch of papers about being pregnant with diabetes. I found this odd because I didn't even mention pregnancy. I am not pregnant, although the funny thing is that just yesterday, I mentioned to my boyfriend that my period is late. I am a little freaked out. Is it all in my head? Why would the hospital give me those papers?
