Why is there not a label called "Centrist" regarding political beliefs?

Liberal Left, Conservative Right.....These labels now reflect very strong and sometimes even radical beliefs in politics these days. If you are a Liberal Left you want the government to take care of you and you are a lazy slob. If your are Conservative Right, you want to eradicate low income as they are all failures looking for a handout. It is hard for me to believe that many folks in this country actually have those beliefs........... Just Call Me......CENTRIST
