Should I study over the summer?(read whole description)?

I was thinking I should I went on facebook and everyone had made honors or advanced placement. We all are going to sophomore year of high school. and I only made college prep. I promised myself to do good freshman year. but I did terrible I used to be in honors but they moved me down. Not only will colleges see this and never accept me. but my parents are are disappointed in me. I was thinking that if I study for all my subjects over the summer. would I do better in school when I start? or should I not "waste my time" studying and wait untill school begins? what do you think?
