Is it bad to petition for an A instead of a B grade?

im taking a Philosophy class right now and i all i can say is this teacher is full of **** when it comes to grading. she can be real ignorant when she grades papers for example she marked points off one of my papers and claimed that her idea is better than mine and her idea is not even in the text book! plus she is very un-organized: she's always late, rarely has enough material for the whole class like worksheets, syllabus, handouts. So anyways, this is one my hardest classes due to the fact of how brutal she can grade. i tried working my *** off in this class: i turned in all the assignments, i go 2 A's 2 B's on the exam, plus i extra credit. now today i go and ask her what my grade is in the class. and looks in her grading book only to tell me i have a B. she didnt even give me a percentage so im not sure if that was supposed to be legitamete. i mean wtf i did posssibly everything i could have and i only have a freaken B!? if i dont get an A should i petition?
