Can you identify this southern tree?

Kinda' hard to tell for sure without a photo, but the clues you provided that: (a) you're in the Deep South; (b) the trees in question are relatively small; (c) their leaves are divided like a fern's leaves (pinnately compound); (d) they bear pink flowers; and, (e) the seedpods are like beans, and dry out, turn brown and crispy, and fall off the tree... lead me to believe that it might be what's called a Mimosa (Albizia julibrissin).
